Barnes & Noble opening in Bryn Mawr with cafe

Barnes & Noble has announced that it will open a new store in Bryn Mawr on Wednesday, February 12th. This new store is opening in the same building it once occupied between 1989 and 2007, located at 720 West Lancaster Avenue in Bryn Mawr. The space was most recently a Walgreens.

During the grand opening on February 12th, author Hannah Nicole Maehrer will cut the ribbon and sign copies of her books, including her latest, Apprentice to the Villain.

The Barnes & Noble store will offer books, games, toys, and gifts, as well as an updated B&N Café, which serves Starbucks products.

“As we open new bookstores across the country it is especially gratifying to come back to communities we once served,” said James Daunt, CEO, Barnes & Noble. “Even more so here, where we not only return to Bryn Mawr, but to the exact address we once proudly occupied. This new Bryn Mawr Barnes & Noble is a testament to readers’ ongoing desire for bookstores as a place of discovery and community, and we are very pleased to be back.”

“I am honored to play a part in bringing Barnes & Noble back to the Bryn Mawr community,” said Store Manager Len Benefico, Barnes & Noble Bookseller of thirty years. “The process of transforming an empty building into bookstore is a remarkable experience that takes dedication and teamwork, and this team can’t wait to welcome readers into their new Bryn Mawr Barnes & Noble.”

The Bryn Mawr location is one of five new Barnes & Noble bookstores set to open in February, alongside new stores in New York, Ohio, Virginia, and Washington.
