Rick’s Tavern has announced that it will hold its grand opening on Thursday, May 28th, at 201 West Seventh Avenue in Conshohocken. The community is invited to celebrate with live music, the full food menu available for purchase until 10:00 pm, and the bar open until 11:00 pm. Valet parking will be available, with walk-ins accepted all night.
Rick’s concept is a modern take on casual Italian cuisine crafted by Chef Derek Davis, who is recognized for his instrumental role in transforming Manayunk into a premier dining destination through restaurants such as Sonoma, Derek’s, and Kansas City Prime.
From the announcement about the menu:
The menu begins with antipasto ranging from classic meatballs to inventive Italian nachos, and moves through modern takes on Italian favorite entrees like chicken parmesan to more adventurous whole roasted spatchcocked chicken to share. House-made pasta dishes are prepared simply to let the freshness shine, with daily ravioli specials to reflect the season. Neighborhood legend Pizza Time and Old Time Saloon pizza is available to customize, accompanied by a selection of gourmet pie options. The hoagies, cheesesteaks, and burgers take handhelds to the next level with timeless and unique offerings to suit any appetite. The lineup of cocktails, mocktails, beer, and wine has been thoughtfully curated to bring unexpected interest to happy hour and compliment any meal.
Rick’s Tavern is owned by Conshohocken natives and restaurateurs Rick and Gale Mahoney. The Mahoneys purchased Pizza Time/Old Time Saloon in 2023 and, a year later, announced plans to transform it into a new restaurant. The Mahoneys also acquired Guppy’s Good Times and Tony & Joe’s Pizzeria during that time period and also recently opened Kaede Sushi & Noodle above Guppy’s.
“We have been hard at work putting the finishing touches on Rick’s Tavern and can’t wait to introduce Conshohocken to a modern dining experience that perfectly blends Italian tradition with artisan inspiration from our talented chef Derek Davis,” said co-owner Gale Mahoney.
