Angelo’s preparing to sell bread in Conshohocken

Since Angelo’s took over the Conshohocken Italian Bakery property over a year ago, the big question has been when it will open to the public. That has now been partially answered.

Angelo’s posted a series of Instagram Stories on February 6th that showed the staff using a forklift to unload equipment from a truck. Owner Danny DiGiampietro stated during the videos that they had been waiting for the delivery of this equipment, that came from France, to start selling bread in Conshohocken.

Conshohocken Italian Bakery announced near the end of 2024 that Angelo’s was acquiring the property and bakery facility. Angelo’s announced that the facility would eventually sell bread, but that the main focus was to supply bread to additional locations being opened by the cheesesteak and pizza shop that originated in South Philly.

DiGiampietro also mentions in the Stories that the company Angelo’s purchased the equipment from was sending people from France next week to train them. No exact date or projected date to start selling bread was mentioned in the Stories when we watched them prior to February 6th at 9:30 a.m. Please note that Stories disappear after 24 hours.

As the Conshohocken Italian Bakery sold bread and other baked goods on a take home retail basis, Angelo’s would be grandfathered in to be able to do the same within the residential zoning district where it is located. Going beyond that could trigger the need for zoning relief.
