Checkers looking to add 25 locations in region, with King of Prussia as one target

The fast-food restaurant chain Checkers’ is looking to add 25 locations in the next few years, according to a recent article in The Philadelphia Business Journal. Plans include Montgomery County, with a specific target of King of Prussia.

The brand aims to add the restaurants to its Philadelphia-area pipeline over the next four to five years, according to Robert Bhagwandat, Checkers’ senior director of franchise development. Those locations will be in “high-priority” territories that the company knows will be successful.

For its 25-restaurant expansion, Checkers plans to focus primarily on moving into more middle- and upper-middle-class areas in the Philadelphia suburbs, including Folsom, Exton and King of Prussia. Bhagwandat [Robert Bhagwandat, senior director of franchise development at Checkers] said the brand will look to fill out the suburbs through a combination of existing and new franchisees.
