Contents of former Oaks Race & Sportsbook being auctioned. Building for lease or sale

Oaks Race & Sportsbook at 600 Cresson Boulevard in Oaks permanently closed in 2020, and its contents are part of an upcoming auction from Geyer Auction Companies. The auction includes more than 300 items, including lots of racehorse-centric artwork. One interesting item is the racehorse statue that graces the top of the building (pictured at top). You can view all the available items here.

The items can be viewed in person on Wednesday, April 23rd, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Online bidding is currently open and closes Thursday, April 24th, at 3:00 p.m.

Greenwood Racing opened what was originally known as the Valley Forge Turf Club in 1996 as an off-track betting facility. According to the website LegalSportsBetting.com, Greenwood sought to create a sportsbook that reflected a “hunt club” due to its proximity to horse country outside of Philadelphia.

In 2019, shortly after Pennsylvania legalized sports gambling, the building underwent a major renovation and was rebranded as the Oaks Race & Sportsbook.

Following the closure in 2020, the approximately 4.5-acre property was sold to an entity associated with Audobon Land Development. It is currently listed for lease or sale.
