Dave & Buster’s is opening a location at 310 Goodard Boulevard in King of Prussia. It currently has eight locations in Pennsylvania, including two in Philadelphia and at the Plymouth Meeting Mall in Plymouth Meeting. It will be located in the Overlook at King of Prussia development, which includes United Artists.
On January 15th, the Upper Merion Township Zoning Hearing Board granted a variance to DDRTC Overlook at King of Prussia, LLC, the property owner of the retail center at 310 Goodard Boulevard, to reduce the required parking spaces for Dave & Buster’s from 2,449 to 1,683. Note that while Dave & Buster’s is not mentioned in the linked letter above, Dave & Buster’s is mentioned as being connected to the application in the minutes from Upper Merion Township Board of Supervisor meetings (see page 15)
The township’s supervisors initially planned to send their solicitor to the zoning hearing to oppose the application due to concerns about the parking; however, they eventually voted not to oppose the application. This decision came after the supervisors shared that they had come to a greater understanding of the parking situation on the property. The supervisors did submit recommendations involving conditions they would like to be considered if the zoning hearing board voted to grant the zoning relief.
On March 11th, a liquor license transfer was marked as pending in the Pennsylvania Liquor Control license database. The database shows a license being transferred from the King of Prussia Diner, LLC to Dave & Buster’s of Pennsylvania at the 310 Goddard Boulevard address.
It is important to note that Dave & Buster’s is acquiring a liquor license from a closed restaurant in King of Prussia and not transferring one from its Plymouth Meeting location. It is also notable that the two Philadelphia locations are 15.1 miles apart. Depending on the route, Plymouth Meeting and King of Prussia are between nine and 12.5 miles apart.
