Two Montgomery County restaurants were included in Philadelphia magazine’s 2026 edition of “The 50 Best Restaurants in Philadelphia.” Overall, only five restaurants from the suburbs made the list.

From Montgomery County, Mexican restaurant La Baja in Ambler ranked No. 24 and Bala Cynwyd’s Lark, that offers a New American menu, came in at No. 41.

The magazine offered about Chef Dionicio Jiménez’s menu at La Baja, “It’s daring work, but the experience is memorable for sure, and unlike anything else you’ll find in Philly — or anywhere else, for that matter.”

Regarding Lark, the magazine wrote, “There’s hardly a dish that isn’t simultaneously approachable and elevated, showcasing [Chef Nick] Elmi’s talent for delivering more than anyone expects.”
