Uncle Giuseppe’s Marketplace, a New York-based Italian food chain, is opening its first Pennsylvania location in King of Prussia, reported the Philadelphia Business Journal on Monday. The storefront will be located in DeKalb Plaza at 320 W. DeKalb Pike. It is expected to open in the fall of 2027, replacing the Hobby Lobby there.

After opening its first location in East Meadow New York in 2001, Giuseppe’s has grown to serve locations across New York and New Jersey. The KOP store will be the chain’s fourteenth location, along with a new storefront in South Jersey. The KOP location is expected to create hundreds of jobs, according to the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Uncle Giuseppe’s Marketplace mimics an open-air Italian market, selling produce, cheeses and prepared foods. According to the business’ website, Giuseppe’s aims to combine the feel of a traditional, neighborhood market with the convenience of a full-service shopping center. The chain is known for its homemade pasta and mozzarella cheese, which is made daily in view of customers. In addition to operating as a grocery store, Uncle Giuseppe’s Marketplace offers catering and meal delivery.
