Liquor license transfer for Japanese barbecue coming to Ardmore

The Pennsylvania Liquor Control license database shows a pending liquor license transfer from the closed ACME in Wynnewood to a new restaurant, Ogyu, opening at 60 Greenfield Road in Ardmore. Ogyu will fill the space once home to Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant, which closed in 2024.

The Ardmore Plaza website describes Ogyu as a Japanese barbecue restaurant, and an article by Michael Klein of The Philadelphia Inquirer describes the restaurant as “Japanese tabletop barbecue, or yakiniku.”

Ogyu is being opened by Sam Li, who also owns Osushi, located within Ardmore Plaza. Li’s Osushi also has locations in Wayne and Marlton (NJ). He also owns Hiramasa in Newtown Square.

An opening date has not been announced.
